Becky Doe has been a self employed artist, musician and teacher since 1993 having trained first as a violinist at The Royal Academy of Music, and later as a ceramist and sculptor at Bath Spa University College. She has toured with The Royal Academy of Art Outreach workshops teaching self expression through art and music, and taught privately and at schools (including Canford School, Dorset, Benenden School, Kent, Cranbrook School, Kent, City of London Freemen’s School, London, Bodiam Manor School, E. Sussex). She is currently the Art Director at the So Centre of Music, Art and Movement, London, where she teaches art and music as part of The Whole Musician workshops*.
Becky has exhibited her ceramic sculptures in the UK in galleries and exhibitions (including Black Swan Arts, Frome: selected graduates, Enigma Gallery, Frome: private exhibition, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury: Summer and the Figure, CDA Fine Arts, Birmingham: emmerging young artists, Now Gallery, Birmingham: Sculpture and Ceramics), and undertaken many art commissions (including designs for Harrods Children’s Department, Illustrations for Educational Publishers Council, Barham Music Club, Philip Osteopath Group, Mactherapy and Children’s book Teasers Book of Pet Hates, by William Garnett (Hawes Press), and a mural for the Royal Academy of Music).
Becky has also performed with classical orchestras and string quartets and written, recorded and toured with well known bands worldwide with her violin. * Through many years of teaching and practice Becky has studied in depth the use of body, mind and energy in creative expression using the principles of The Alexander Technique, Martial Arts, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. She is currently writing a book The Whole Musician, which applies these principles to instrumental playing, and is developing a series of art and music workshops which explore the same principles though sound, colour, form, movement and story telling.
