We offer a full-time or part-time comprehensive 3-year Diploma course for students aiming to become professional artists. The Diploma course has one of the highest levels of tutored contact hours for any
Fine Art course in the UK. The Academy is small enough to care for the development of each individual, encourages confidence and commitment in each student’s creative vision, and gives them the means
to achieve it.
The course has three main strands:
Development of skills: we offer a structured approach to skills development, in a wide variety of fine art mediums. Skill development allows students
to manifest their vision and opens up many areas of creative work.
Development of the artist: students are given confidence to be honest and true to themselves in their creative expression, and to look at the conceptual, emotional and material aspects of the work.
Professional development: students are given the skills to participate in the world as a practising artist. They work alongside the Academy’s Resident Artists and have a programme of professional development.
