"Painting the Human Figure" is a ten-week comprehensive life-painting course that leads to an understanding of the three main components that make up figure painting - light, colour and shape.

The course explores the problems students often find in figure painting, namely the art of colour mixing, as well as the difficulties of drawing the figure in paint. By the end of the course students are expected to have a good basic understanding of colour mixing and of the function of light (tone) and the method of capturing the character of the model. The course is designed for both beginners and the more experienced.
