Diploma and Part-time Study

Diploma
We offer a full-time or part-time comprehensive 3-year Diploma course, for students aiming to become professional artists. The part time Diploma course is very flexible and can be taken in as many days assuits your needs. The Diploma course has one of the highest levels of tutored contact hours for any Fine Art course in the UK. Students can focus on painting, sculpture or a combination of the two. In addition, all students study compulsory core disciplines - drawing, studio practice, creative awareness, art history and contextual studies, and professional practice. Fees must be paid in advance and can be paid yearly or termly (the latter incurring a 3% surcharge).One level is a full cycle of course components, each of which has to be completed before moving on to the next level. In the full time Diploma, each level is completed in a year; in the part time Diploma, a level takes two years. The Academy reviews its fees on an annual basis, but fees for enrolled students will not be increased from year to year other than to account for the annual rate of inflation.

Certificate courses
Certificates are offered in Sculpture, Figurative Sculpture and Painting. Study is one day a week for two years. A wide variety of skills are taught and students have the added benefit of tutorials, a space to keep their equipment and optional attendance at other Art Academy courses. Their work is included inthe end of year graduation show in year two.
