John O’Connor
John studied at the Art Academy and is now a resident artist and head of 1st year sculpture. The reason he studied sculpture is because he believes it a way of questioning and expressing the inner self. This is the driving force behind his work. With a belief that art is a journey within ourselves and sometimes you get an answer (the essence of the work) and sometimes it’s just a journey.
He would like people when viewing his work to learn and experience as much about life as he does. He has been commissioned for a life size sculpture of Christopher Marlow (the playwrite) for St Nicholas Church, Depford, London and the Marlow Society. John also worked on various public and private commissions around the country and has exhibited in venues inside and outside London.
