Karin Jolly studied at Barnet College and Middlesex University where she won the Alan Turner Prize for the most promising student and was Student of the Year. She has also studied at The Hampstead Institute, Hampstead School of Art and the Art Academy where she won the 2010 Mixed Media Prize for pushing the boundaries of materials.
She writes: 'My early influences in figurative art came from sitting for and spending time with the painter Robert Lenkiewicz. After travelling and living in Greece for a number of years I concentrated on bringing up my six children. Over these years I spent time with, and painted in the studio of my good friend Inga Clayton. At present I am working with the sculptor Micheal Speller. My work is my passion and has become more contemporary over the years, developing from the human form towards the human condition'.
