Creative Sculpture in Cornwall

Full course details and booking at foot of page

A unique sculpting opportunity to be inspired by the amazing qualities of the Cornish coast, using the intrinsic power and energy of the landscape to evoke a fresh creative outlook and experience. Through a series of visits to outdoor sites and museums and collections combined with workshops and practical instruction sessions, participants will work directly with the landscape as a material and also use it as an inspiration to produce fresh sculptural forms. Working both on location and in the studio participants will work with natural and man-made forms, using a variety of ‘conventional’ sculpture materials (clay, plaster, wire etc) as well as found objects and local materials. Some sessions will involve creating temporary pieces of land art on location.
Sessions will include: land art on the beach; sculpture with natural found objects; sculpture inspired by the landscape and natural and man-made forms; creative sculpture in clay and plaster; sculpture inspired by the modern masters of Cornish sculpture and ceramics (Hepworth, Gabo, Leach, Moore et al.)
