2003 - Ray Finnis Trust Award –MA final project in cast glass, carved stone& metal
2003 - MA Art in Architecture graduate exhibition September.
2001 - Letter carving prize - awarded by City and Guilds of London art school.
2000 - The Margaret Ballardie –Travel Award. Specific aim to take measurements from one of the heads of ‘Canovas’ 3 Graces, with the aim of modelling one of the heads. In conjunction with a plaster conservation/restoration job with the National Trust; of a damaged plaster cast of the 3 Graces.
1998 - The Marazian Trophy, for hard work and dedication to the stonemasonry course York College, 4th February
Teaching
Simon began teaching stone carving at the Art Academy from April 2006 until the present day, recently appointed and February 2008, he ran a 5 day course for the diploma students. He also runs very popular private carving courses and has started teaching stone carving courses at West Dean College, March 2008.
