The aim of the course is to gain knowledge and practical skills in the use of polyester fibreglass resin. It will also cover the different finishes which can be achieved using bronze powder and other additives.
Skills taught include the understanding of the materials, health and safety procedures, application of resin into a silicon mould, removal of the casting from the mould, and patching skills including the removal of seam-lines and repair work.
Students will gain an understanding of the materials and a finished cast piece, ready for patination and waxing.
