Umberto Gionannini

Umberto Giovannini is a multidisciplinary artist, working as a printmaker since 1990. He combines his knowledge of colour and extensive woodcut skills with his passion for music to develop his 'performance of art'. With twenty years experience of European woodcut, Giovannini has exhibited at galleries in Italy, UK, USA, Japan and Australia. He is the cofounder of VACA, a cultural organisation for artists, filmmakers and writers from the Romagna region of Italy. In 2009 he established Opificio della Rosa, a printmaking centre in the medieval Castle of Montefiore Conca in Rimini, Italy. Gionvannini is currently a visiting lecturer at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London and tutors woodblock printing at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rimini.
